At The Tail End, we believe no senior should ever have to wonder what will happen to their beloved pet when they can no longer provide care themselves.
Our mission is to provide aging adults with peace of mind through compassionate pet legacy planning — ensuring their companions will always have a safe, loving place to call home.
The Tail End is being thoughtfully created as a first-of-its-kind Retreat & Sanctuary, designed specifically for senior pets transitioning after the illness, hospitalization, or passing of their person. Rather than a traditional shelter environment, our vision is a peaceful sanctuary built around comfort, dignity, and love.
🏡Our Sanctuary Vision
We are developing a unique “tiny home village” sanctuary model where senior dogs and cats will live in cozy, climate-controlled cottages with private fenced yards, enrichment spaces, soft bedding, and individualized care.
Each cottage will be thoughtfully designed to feel warm and comforting — a true home, not a kennel.

Our long-term vision also includes gentle pasture spaces for senior horses and peaceful memorial gardens honoring the lifelong bond between people and their pets.

The Tail End will offer seniors the ability to create personalized Pet Legacy Plans, helping ensure:
- Emergency contacts and care instructions are documented
- Pets have guaranteed placement if something happens to their owner
- Financial support can be arranged in advance for lifelong care
- Families and loved ones are never left scrambling during a crisis
Our goal is simple:
To ensure that no beloved pet is left behind or surrendered to an uncertain future.
The Tail End is currently in the process of becoming an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
We are actively:
- Building our founding board
- Developing our sanctuary and care-planning programs
- Establishing community partnerships
- Raising support for our first sanctuary phase
